The waiting season can be one of the hardest parts of walking with God. It feels like being handed a promise with no map, no date, and no confirmation email—just a word whispered to your spirit and a fire lit in your soul.
You start with nothing but faith. You don’t know the location, only that God said, “Go.” And so, like Abraham, you pack up your heart and begin walking, trusting the God who speaks in silence and shows up in divine whispers.
Then comes the preparation. You think, “Surely, I’m ready now.” You feel like you’ve prayed enough, fasted enough, cried enough. You think it’s graduation day—but heaven says, “Not yet, daughter.” And that “not yet” stings.
The wait stretches your faith, matures your character, and breaks every illusion of control. You don’t know the exact day or hour, but somehow, deep inside, you know it will happen. You cling to the word because the word is all you have.
There are moments when giving up feels easier. When it feels like your prayers echo back in silence. But quitting isn’t an option because something greater than hope is rooted in your soul—it’s a promise. And God's promise is not a fantasy. It’s not empty. It’s a kingdom.
But this kingdom doesn’t come easily.
God’s promise often looks like this: You were once a slave, but now you're told a kingdom is yours—now go and get it.
Sounds beautiful, right? Until you realise:
-
There are giants in that kingdom.
-
Pharaoh is chasing you.
-
The Red Sea is in front of you.
-
And just when you think you’re almost there, people—some even close to you—rise to discourage, distract, or delay you.
And yet, God says, "Go."
You don’t have all the weapons, but you have the Word.
You don’t know how to part the sea, but you have the staff.
You don’t know how to fight giants, but you have the stone.
This is the waiting season—where battles are won in silence, tears are bottled by heaven, and strength is forged in hidden places.
So, my sister in the faith, if you’re in your waiting season, know this:
You're not being punished, you're being positioned.
You're not being ignored, you're being ignited.
And when the promise comes to pass, it will be worth every lonely night, every unanswered prayer, and every silent battle.
Wait well, daughter of Zion. Your crown is being crafted. Your kingdom is closer than it seems.
